This vintage WWII (circa 1940s) table setting is a unique piece of homefront souvenir history from the Philippines. The set includes a woven tablecloth measuring approximately 31 inches by 20 inches, featuring a 1-inch fringe. Embroidered on the tablecloth are the words ‘PHILIPPINES’ and a detailed map of the islands, including Luzon, Panay, Mindoro, Mindanao, Sibuyan, and Negros. Accompanying the tablecloth are six napkins, each embroidered with ‘PHILIPPINES’ and measuring approximately 8 3/4 inches by 9 1/2 inches. While the set has never been used, it does exhibit some fading of the original bright pink color. This is a lovely original and collectible set from a bygone era.
