Original 1946 Lionel Train Set #1407B – Vintage O Gauge Locomotive & Cars – Restoration Project
This Lionel O Gauge Train Set #1407B from 1946 is a classic piece of railway history. The set includes the 1665 0-4-0 locomotive with a 2403B Bell Tender featuring a light, a 2452 Black Short Gondola, a 2560 Crane Car with a dark green boom, and a 2419 Work Caboose. The set also comes with the original instruction book.
While this train set shows signs of its age, it offers a fantastic opportunity for collectors or enthusiasts looking to restore a piece of railroading history. The locomotive runs forward, neutral, and reverse but could benefit from normal servicing. The wiring is functional but may benefit from replacement. The bulb in the locomotive needs replacing, and the tender’s bell works but also requires a new bulb. The 2560 Crane Car is in good working condition with only minor scrapes on the roof. The 2452X Short Gondola appears to be in excellent condition. The 2419 Work Caboose has a repaired roof corner break and a small chip on one toolbox. The instruction manual is complete but shows some wear on the cover.
