Antique Georgian Gold-Washed Cut Steel Arrow Sash Buckle (1800s)
This impressive antique Georgian gold washed riveted cut steel arrow sash belt buckle hails from the 1800s. Unmarked and weighing approximately 23.7 grams, it measures approximately 6 1/8″ long x 1 1/4″ wide. The buckle features a striking arrow shape adorned with a rich bright gold wash and accented by riveted cut steel edging. Tiny riveted beveled edge tips adorn each point, showcasing intricate craftsmanship. One tip turns on the rivet, adding to its unique character. A 2.4mm gold washed bar runs the length of the open center, culminating in a sharp three-pronged piece designed to securely hold the sash material. Despite a few spots where the gold wash has darkened, this elegant buckle remains in very nice condition. It’s a stunning piece that speaks to the finery of a bygone era.
