Vintage Benton Hand Tally Counter – Working 19th/20th Century Train Conductor Counter – Unique Collectible

This vintage Benton Manufacturing Co. New York thumb-operated tally counter, used primarily in the 19th and 20th centuries by train conductors and event staff, is a functional piece of history. Although showing signs of use, it operates smoothly. The counter requires a simple reset procedure: bring the first digit back to 0 with the button, then reset the second and third digits using the turn buttons on the back. The front shroud is chrome-plated metal, while the back portion appears to be pot metal. The casing measures 2 1/16″ in diameter and 5/8″ in thickness. Please note: this item is sold without its original box or paperwork. Inspect the provided photos carefully to assess its condition.
