Antique Sterling Silver Gilded Demitasse Spoon, John Aldwinkle & Slater, London 1889
This exquisite antique demitasse spoon dates back to 1889 and bears the hallmarks of renowned silversmiths John Aldwinkle & Thomas Slater (JA/TS). Crafted from sterling silver with a gilded bowl, it features an elegant shell pattern meticulously engraved on both the interior of the bowl and the back. The inscription “LONDON, 1889” adorns the inside of the bowl, adding to its historical significance. A twisted handle adorned with a crown top and finial completes this timeless piece. The spoon weighs approximately 13 grams and measures about 4 1/4 inches in length. It retains a lovely soft patina, testament to its age and craftsmanship.
