Antique 1870s 14K Gold Shell Cameo Brooch – Signed, Hand Carved, Vintage
This stunning 1870s era brooch is crafted from solid 14K gold and features a beautifully carved shell cameo. Un-marked but tested, the brooch weighs approximately 12 grams and measures about 1 3/4″ x 1 1/2″. The cameo depicts a striking young woman with curls and tendrils, in wonderful condition. A hinged tube or trombone pin with a locking clasp secures the brooch. The gold value alone at today’s market prices is approximately $300.00. A signed cameo, though the artist signature is difficult to identify, adds to its unique charm.
