Vintage 1960s-70s Italian Wooden Pinocchio Jack-in-the-Box – Rare Kitsch Toy
This charming vintage jack-in-the-box hails from Italy and dates back to the 1960s or 1970s. Crafted from wood and painted in vibrant red and green, this whimsical piece stands approximately 11 inches high and 6 1/4 inches square. The removable lid features a delightful depiction of Pinocchio seated among a set of blocks, a rocking horse with a chenille mane and tail, and two flat rocking horses. The sides of the box are recessed, adorned with a large ‘A’ and ‘B’. The top, secured with a red ribbon, lifts to reveal a charming toy scene. While unmarked, similar Pinocchio jack-in-the-boxes have been identified as made in Italy, adding to this piece’s authenticity.
